По поводу разъёма нужно смотреть распиновку приборки. Посмотрю-скажу. По тахометру подключение верное. Насчёт достоверности оборотов- скорее ближе к правде. Проверить на твоей машине можно только пьезо тахометром.

Вот схемы приборок. Изучай, а потом сам решишь можно отказаться от 8-ми контактов или нет?
